SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION
Call for Abstracts
The deadline for abstracts submission is January 15th, 2009. Authors will be notified by February 15th, 2009 whether their abstract has been accepted, and they will be informed at the same time about the date, time and form of their presentation. the final programme will be published on the meeting website (www.facialnerve2009.org)
The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final decision conernig form of preentation but authors are asked to indicate their preference.
At the Meeting
There will be facilities for you to view and edit your presentation in the Slide Center Room. Presenters are asked to check their Power Point presentations to the Slide Center Room at least two hours before the session (or the day before for morning sessions). Your presentations will then be transferred to the central server. All presentation will be deleted from the server at the end of the meeting unless otherwise requested
Slide Content and Design
Disclosure
If the research was supported by a pharmaceutical company you must indicate the company's role in analysing the data or preparing the slides.
- Material on slides must be of an adequate size to be seen clearly by all delegates
- It is recommended that each slide contains no more than seven lines of text and no more than seven words per line
- If showing graphs, tables or charts: Do not make them too crowded Complex figures should be broken up into series Limit the number of captions Use rounded figures
- As a rough guide, we suggest you allow no more than two slides per minute of your talk
- Slides are easier to read when there is a high contrast between the text and the background
Presentation times:
Oral papers: 8 minutes + 2 discussion
Special Abstract
Selected original papers will be pubblished as supplement in a major indexed Otoryngological Journal
Information for Poster Presenters
Displaying you poster
Boards will be available from 07.30 on April 26th, 2009.
Posters to be removed by 13.00 on April 28th, 2009.
Presenting your poster
Posters will be grouped by topic and discussion will be driven by chairmen.
There will be 3 Poster Sessions (26th, 27th and 28th April, 2009) specified in their acceptance letters
Poster preparation
- Each presenter will be allocated one numbered board, the total usable area of which is
100 cm high x 70 cm wide (portrait)
THIS IS THE MAXIMUM SIZE ALLOWED FOR YOUR POSTER! - Velcro for attaching your poster to the board will be available at the meeting
- Posters are usually more attractive when mounted onto a single background rather than
being mounted on the board as several separate sheets - The Organisers will provide the poster board numbers
- You are invited to bring copies of your poster on A4 sheets to hand out to interested
delegates
